The municipality Georgi Damianovo is recognized as one of the most ecologically clean in relation to the rest of the country. Cleanliness in the urban area is provided through organized solid waste. The collection of household waste is carried out by a specialized company under contract with the municipality, the company has all necessary equipment to transport and depot the waste at the regional waste landfill for municipal waste in Montana. Monitoring of environmental components (water, air, soil, radiological background and noise load) is carried out periodically by RIEW Montana. The assessment of the overall environmental condition of the municipality is very good. There are no sources of harmful atmospheric emissions, incl. hazardous waste.
 
 
 
The territory of the municipality shall, within two draft protected areas Natura 2000 - protected Unit "West Balkan code BG0002002 in the EU Directive 79/409 for protection of wild birds and  (Western Stara Mountains and pre-Balkan Mountains) code BG000104 under Directive 92/43 EU to protect natural habitats.
 
In the Municipality are located two protected areas declared as such under the protected areas. These are:
 
-     Park "Kopren, Ravno buche, Deyanitsa, Kalimanitsa," territory of the village Kopilovtsi - declared a protected area by Order № 3751/1973 on MGOPS with a total area of 536.4 hectares. The region combines four ednoimenni picturesque locations in Kopilovski share part of the Western Balkan Mountains.
 
 
 
-     Park "Usketo," located in Dalgo Delski area of Western Balkan Mountains of 1550 m. over SL, the upper limit of the forest has a natural century spruce forest in the existing coniferous forests. Declared in 1949 to reserve an area of 1.9 ha, and later by Order № 802/1992 on the Ministry of Environment because of the small area is announced to be a protected area.
